Here Mark gets some help from the rappers Phat Kat and Elzhi, creating two versions of a hardcore, cutting edge hip hop track. This is a club anthem in it's true meaning, probably tearing roofs of when played at a big soundsystem.<br /></p><p>Of the two versions on this 12" I prefer the remix version. Usually, i don't find rap on beats disturbing, but on this 12" it's too much with all the synthersizers and heavy basslines speakng for themselves at the same time as an MC tries to give us his message. So therefore I prefer the instrumentals on this one.</p><p>When we're speaking about Mark Pritchard i can give a huge shout out to his "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcT9sJjOSL8">Wind it up</a>" Featuring Om'mas Kieth from SA-RA. It's out on Hyperdub records the 27th i think, so keep your eyes open around that date.</p><p><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF356238-01-01-02.mp3">LISTEN TO BATTLESTAR REMIX (INSTR)</a></p><p>/ Jaywalk</p>MY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-33955105387594716282009-06-25T14:41:00.000-07:002009-06-25T22:51:54.220-07:00RUSH HOUR PRESENTS - BEAT DIMENSIONS VOL.2 (2009)<p><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6r-GFJ-ewLiYV0-aF_wqZC32E4IEJc7V4XUQeGe-hXCD7OsrtLQ4qwE-7Js3k-iJogOw_D9jSv4bVKN_sB1vjPWu8F6lTlvCRVMV9ygGgq6cRWhRf3gse9N8ctqhHEcrM7e8504H4jc5E/s1600-h/DSCN6315.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6r-GFJ-ewLiYV0-aF_wqZC32E4IEJc7V4XUQeGe-hXCD7OsrtLQ4qwE-7Js3k-iJogOw_D9jSv4bVKN_sB1vjPWu8F6lTlvCRVMV9ygGgq6cRWhRf3gse9N8ctqhHEcrM7e8504H4jc5E/s320/DSCN6315.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351384059664710738" /></a></p><p><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4VGOphCRR7xSvK6OUqtK9rX22KgBvO172H1G62CvBOWYA-PQ_HmQs4zAejjA39UpL7f7az8KeDd6W8lMbxrB7LSiXEuzXHVmV2P9vcS1eo6tWqltl-h9PC-JD7mmGVV9jxVBzlKEti9Zo/s1600-h/DSCN6316.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4VGOphCRR7xSvK6OUqtK9rX22KgBvO172H1G62CvBOWYA-PQ_HmQs4zAejjA39UpL7f7az8KeDd6W8lMbxrB7LSiXEuzXHVmV2P9vcS1eo6tWqltl-h9PC-JD7mmGVV9jxVBzlKEti9Zo/s320/DSCN6316.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351384058541289666" /></a></p><p>Cinnaman and Jay Scarlett has done it again. The sound climate in the more twisted side of beats has changed a bit since 2007, when they put out their first Beat Dimension LP to please and inspire the beat loving crowd. </p><p>Today many of the producers who were crisp fresh then has started to evolve their own sound and that is significant for theese two 12"s recently released by dutch <a href="http://www.rushhour.nl/">Rush Hour.</a></p><p>It's hard to have an opinion about the two 12" as a whole, basically because theese producers differ so much in style and performance from each other, but also as i said before, the significance of theese style of music lies in the difference between the producers. Someone described it as drunken swedes tryin' to create funk on ancient synthersizers. I find that description lovely. But I would consider listen to any kind of music labeled like that so that's probably saying more about me than about Skweee in general. </p><p>If you don't really feel that you know what skweee is and what this is all about, try google it since it's been kind of a phenomena on internet the last years.</p><p>The record i'm supposed to write about here is released on one of my favourite lables when it comes to experimental stuff such as <em>wonky </em>hiphop and the darker sides of dubstep. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/ramprecordings">Ramp</a> really puts out a large amount of wicked releases nowadays. If you haven't checked them out yet... do it. On this record, Ramp collabs with the swedish label <a href="http://www.flogstadanshall.com/">Flogsta Danshall</a>, which is a wicked combo in my ears!</p><p>We find some really classic names from the genre on this LP such as Daniel Savio and Joxaren. But there's also some new people that haven't really got the spotlight on them yet. This and the compliation format makes this a really good starter if you feel to penetrate the genre and don't know where to begin. </p><p>Finally, a BIG up the designer of this record. They have been active in the remix game a while and had their stuffed played i several sets.<br /><br />The Flako remix is packed with crazy drums for a great dancefloor experience, and Moo relaxes a little bit and puts a more atmospheric view to the lyrics.<br /><br />Both nice, and so is the original version.<br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF334336-01-01-01.mp3"><br />LISTEN TO THE ORIGINAL VERSION</a><br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF334336-01-01-02.mp3"><br />LISTEN TO THE FLAKO SIDE OF IT</a><br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF334336-01-01-03.mp3"><br />LISTEN TO THE MOO SIDE OF IT</a><br /><br />/ JayWalkMY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-19265647711956796702009-01-10T11:03:00.000-08:002009-06-25T04:28:37.144-07:00SA-RA CREATIVE PARTNERS / BUDAMUNKY - MISDEMEANOR / WHAT I NEED<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLX0N8OUJ-COZIl4X2G55wPFTrtPlO0YvnPuoMVpYhaD7QUkiqlSpSh2bVri4jRE65Zv8Na0mxot83pgPbDqvUbSaRRRF0AQoWAZa8mzUIHQBUlMI2cMb5JHcvwhliQogc0Lvyf8AYSsDV/s1600-h/DSCN4465.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLX0N8OUJ-COZIl4X2G55wPFTrtPlO0YvnPuoMVpYhaD7QUkiqlSpSh2bVri4jRE65Zv8Na0mxot83pgPbDqvUbSaRRRF0AQoWAZa8mzUIHQBUlMI2cMb5JHcvwhliQogc0Lvyf8AYSsDV/s320/DSCN4465.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289743780746016882" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizzk-DLEkLJ13phTySK8gJIvOVE0sAms0Js5wjaAui2IgmwNIxbjYA1CYiuz8_Iz9UhSnYrpqxpnyDX8saDMt5KbDsUqUZNf3bCq8nw6zV1KEzsUKAqXu6PTf8RnLdph0FY61dgdi7h5oa/s1600-h/DSCN4467.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizzk-DLEkLJ13phTySK8gJIvOVE0sAms0Js5wjaAui2IgmwNIxbjYA1CYiuz8_Iz9UhSnYrpqxpnyDX8saDMt5KbDsUqUZNf3bCq8nw6zV1KEzsUKAqXu6PTf8RnLdph0FY61dgdi7h5oa/s320/DSCN4467.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289743775507668434" border="0" /></a><br />A package from the Netherlands dropped down yesterday, among some other great records, it contained this high quality release by our favourites. The best of 2008 is what's presented on this and other vinyl blogs out there and it's very simple to just click back and see what was hot during the past year!<br /><br />But, I've had a bad feeling about this blog when I think about how many records I actually miss to write about. All records in the serie are worth a purchase the next time you buy records. This is beats of the more experimental side of hiphop and I always like progression in beat makin, so this is kind of uplifting to hear!<br /><br />The two tracks on this record is the opposite of each other. The beat called "My Comet" ia an easy listened beat with similarities in some of <span style="font-style: italic;">Flying Lotus </span>work. They released an interesting 12" earlier this year called "The Who EP, with some tracks from this album released a couple of weeks ago. Most of the tracks are about one minuite long, in other words, this album is more for listening than using in your next mixtape.<br /><br />Circle Research uses many of the classic hiphop breaks and samples on the album, but they put them in a new perspective and create a hybrid between the classix and the hip hop sound we're looking for in 2008.<br /><br />The album is released on the german label "Melting Pot", which is a very interesting label for those who haven't checked them out yet.<br /><br />At the end I have to add some credits to the man behind the artwork of this record, it's fuckin brutal..<br /><br />Below, some of my favourite tracks from the record.<br /><br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF333077-01-02-03.mp3">UNA MAS 98/04</a><br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF333077-01-01-09.mp3">OH SNAP!</a><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF333077-01-01-12.mp3"><br />AFTER THE LAUGHTER</a><br /><a href="http://www.mpmsite.com"><br />WWW.MPMSITE.COM</a><br /><br /><br /><br />/ JayWalkMY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-13812649063345315142008-10-21T10:17:00.000-07:002009-06-25T04:28:37.145-07:00MURS - MURS FOR PRESIDENT (2008)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinLArXEuxrOrq0O8_Ih30oMz9161IkcGaiXAyKbipifgSVpg9NBGl6OaVAL8cS0HmDNMxxr14_Bqxi4ilJfwoEYnqv5Z4oXIAUkD8TjDpFfuOtCnVS2XwWbqPXJSjahn3SNGrtGcJW5_tr/s1600-h/MURS+%234.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinLArXEuxrOrq0O8_Ih30oMz9161IkcGaiXAyKbipifgSVpg9NBGl6OaVAL8cS0HmDNMxxr14_Bqxi4ilJfwoEYnqv5Z4oXIAUkD8TjDpFfuOtCnVS2XwWbqPXJSjahn3SNGrtGcJW5_tr/s320/MURS+%234.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259657651560632322" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhejVvBUHxquGD8KNp4sIC4VwhJkmZKWA0yAXw-L__KM54cQ6eylP24WCMab29uDoXrpKpgjLvOkDSLqXNcE91S6xKjPk-YhEck1zcOwLMabctSdLgk8s71sEp14JyqtjHHqdi_rZ3-L5_l/s1600-h/MURS+%233.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhejVvBUHxquGD8KNp4sIC4VwhJkmZKWA0yAXw-L__KM54cQ6eylP24WCMab29uDoXrpKpgjLvOkDSLqXNcE91S6xKjPk-YhEck1zcOwLMabctSdLgk8s71sEp14JyqtjHHqdi_rZ3-L5_l/s320/MURS+%233.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259657654753913266" border="0" /></a>Murs new full length! Likely to be one of the best full lengt albums from US artist this year, along with some other releases. Funny surprise is the coloured vinyl, I didn't expect that when I opened the sleeve. This 12" is no exception!<br /><br />Solid catchy Jackson 5 sample. Probably there's a hit warning on this one. Hit warnings is of course always bad, so let's hope it wont make it to far on the charts. Then I can be proud of this record next year too.<br /><br />The B-side, "Me And This Jawn", has one of the best beats lately. But the song doesn't really stick to my brain, I don't know why. This LP is packed with beats that most producers would have given their right hand for coming up with. Premo though, admit in the inlay that he's not very fond of theese beats, and they aren't his best. I agree with him, this material isn't sparkling as much as some of his other released stuff. But still, premo keeps it so geniously simple so you just got to love this. Especially on a dusky swedish monday like this. Big up once again premo!<br /><br />My favourite tracks on the record is "Blow Horn Joint" and "B-Line".<br /><br />Listen!<br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF324577-01-01-03.mp3"><br />BLOW HORN JOINT</a><br /><br /><a href="http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF324577-01-02-02.mp3">B-LINE</a><br /><br />/ JayWalkMY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-31408150067567883912008-09-30T12:02:00.000-07:002009-06-25T04:28:37.146-07:00J RAWLS - DIGITAL FUNKY/ANOTHER TRIBUTE TO DILLA 7" (2008)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYgOhKcMESxNvltk-ZXLpdANhU0g13ty9n_S8ewws28D9UJkflegvDtJ92o1NgLyT9y1rWaJF0bWaVt8b6lkp9INtCVDiUeRch2t9iCSupTxt8AX_rV6DwSM-IcLSYCNnUBGlYcSJoij3a/s1600-h/J+RAWLS+%231.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYgOhKcMESxNvltk-ZXLpdANhU0g13ty9n_S8ewws28D9UJkflegvDtJ92o1NgLyT9y1rWaJF0bWaVt8b6lkp9INtCVDiUeRch2t9iCSupTxt8AX_rV6DwSM-IcLSYCNnUBGlYcSJoij3a/s320/J+RAWLS+%231.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251893035956673810" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwxdt6stoPezrXXrlYljVsvaz8F3lCptoDpnWbdL9oIHxmRQboDFpXTKINji6H8UCmW6yNA_uvYAYMIKCw8av-CepqnnDyJYnSZioKYpkg9jYfsiv8-KT6ar4o4dg1_BqWhJMaTH2WS2Vz/s1600-h/J+RAWLS+%231.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwxdt6stoPezrXXrlYljVsvaz8F3lCptoDpnWbdL9oIHxmRQboDFpXTKINji6H8UCmW6yNA_uvYAYMIKCw8av-CepqnnDyJYnSZioKYpkg9jYfsiv8-KT6ar4o4dg1_BqWhJMaTH2WS2Vz/s320/J+RAWLS+%231.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251893040668603746" border="0" /></a><br /><br />An almost new 7" by J Rawls, from his forthcoming album "Liquid Crystal Project pt. 2". But now we're back in the virtual crates again.<br /><br />This release is the perfect kick off for the blog. Our swedish favourites Trainspotters has done it again, and released a new EP on white (!) wax. I'm always happy when swedish wax is released and it thrills me even more when it's a coloured vinyl and four tight tracks...<br /><br />This EP is high quality all through but my personal favourites is the older track "Growing up" and the new "That's how" produced by a new swedish producer called "Thosedamnacademics". <br /><br />Another great track "Bullshit rap" which contains representants for more or less the whole swedish (english speaking) rap scene. Nice to hear something from Kashal-Tee and Prop Dylan, it's been a while since!<br /><br />Buy it!<br /><br />You can hear all tracks from the EP at their myspace.<br /><br />/ JayWalk<br /><a href="http://www.myspace.com/trainspotters"><br />http://www.myspace.com/trainspotters</a>MY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-49674785455541789052008-07-17T11:07:00.000-07:002009-06-25T04:28:37.146-07:00ONRA & QUETZAL - PRESENT TRIBUTE EP 2 (2008)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7gyhjKFSnyJ02-nJrCX79Gef180lATTfZEsC5LSMgVfo_9Dg4-aovBcJlukmmhID6gYanbJOFyFSNCDwGEDJT8ZnKDP_QgIcXtzdxGPq4xbIK3Vf9bI-zElUeQyDZ_zvZ8n5Q3Qt1ySGX/s1600-h/ONRA+%232.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7gyhjKFSnyJ02-nJrCX79Gef180lATTfZEsC5LSMgVfo_9Dg4-aovBcJlukmmhID6gYanbJOFyFSNCDwGEDJT8ZnKDP_QgIcXtzdxGPq4xbIK3Vf9bI-zElUeQyDZ_zvZ8n5Q3Qt1ySGX/s320/ONRA+%232.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224046529223050482" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl0zfu7y3K5-uHM-GdB-DSIpD4kUmd3xFYoHBexrTraqMorDojcQYpXjXI7dZ453gGR1QB54A8EUDmCWIhiwclj10MQC2-de9_fQEhiHcLCC_8y0I_-cReF3kXohsIxT9aaYUCKnJ5yRJF/s1600-h/ONRA+%231.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl0zfu7y3K5-uHM-GdB-DSIpD4kUmd3xFYoHBexrTraqMorDojcQYpXjXI7dZ453gGR1QB54A8EUDmCWIhiwclj10MQC2-de9_fQEhiHcLCC_8y0I_-cReF3kXohsIxT9aaYUCKnJ5yRJF/s320/ONRA+%231.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224046533539929650" border="0" /></a><br />This 7" by Onra, released recently by french "Favorite Records" is for you who likes soul!<br /><br />Onra & Quetzal have been working with a cd that's a tribute to the soul sound of the seventies. All tracks are worth the price of the record alone, so I can really recommend you to put your hand on this record as soon as possible.<br /><br />First I thought this was a tribute to Dilla or something because they uses kind of a similar technique in chopping up samples as dilla did in the end of his life. This isn't one of the real old school classics but maybe a "soon to be classic" record. Released over six years ago in 2002, a year that didn't put two many stars on the hip hop heaven, and still top notch compared to what's released today.<br /><br />What I love with this, and similar records, with Pete Rock and other guys that's been around for a while is the way they let their beats stay geniously simple. They use as few channels as possible and create the raw sound, significant for a good hiphop record that will last forever. According to me, too much of todays hiphop is too slick and miss the whole point with keeping it raw. As few computers as possible make a better record.<br /><br />Records like this remains good because of the simpleness, it's like good women and fine wine that's only get better over the years. Sorry, but it's as cheesy as that.<br /><br />Nuff with the sentimental b'shit anyway, this is a fuckin good record. Don't hesitate to put it in your crate if you run over it as i did today during some after work diggin'.<br /><a href="http://www.discogs.com/release/390962"><br />http://www.discogs.com/release/390962</a><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span><br />/ JayWalkMY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-91310534163685833532008-06-24T13:54:00.000-07:002009-06-25T04:28:37.147-07:00SPECIFICS - MY TUNES 12" (2007)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrseMIWKYjA8tkfkesNVGf27ICYTzCTyk0yQVRqf6-D0nLac4eKtXSk2hegvCR8ZrGNE_nNE-FNrlGflZAv7_Fov5bOyDMv7ykRlSCxPLosxZXiQnOa9p5UBo6QUfmWNj2TZwQjd5RqDij/s1600-h/SPECIFICS+%231.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrseMIWKYjA8tkfkesNVGf27ICYTzCTyk0yQVRqf6-D0nLac4eKtXSk2hegvCR8ZrGNE_nNE-FNrlGflZAv7_Fov5bOyDMv7ykRlSCxPLosxZXiQnOa9p5UBo6QUfmWNj2TZwQjd5RqDij/s320/SPECIFICS+%231.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215561068755494706" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSZppMghgnMUpWBbSMhzl8W9k6qniCl2YIi4Lqn3TwOBdB0tgLGl-0mGeDDD4xvyiL5Cvw7znWA_1qXNUxgBAiNox-DbEaEkJcKta7K38zLkVe_Cazr9iTF1rEqFxCgLmlZ0BHakf3HNjT/s1600-h/SPECIFICS+%232.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSZppMghgnMUpWBbSMhzl8W9k6qniCl2YIi4Lqn3TwOBdB0tgLGl-0mGeDDD4xvyiL5Cvw7znWA_1qXNUxgBAiNox-DbEaEkJcKta7K38zLkVe_Cazr9iTF1rEqFxCgLmlZ0BHakf3HNjT/s320/SPECIFICS+%232.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215561161776358066" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Iv'e hade some trouble with the mail lately, that's the main reason for not beeing active on this blog. About a month ago I ordered a big bunch of records from UK, as I always do, but after a few weeks I realised that they wouldn't show up. My records were probably stolen on someone on the post terminals.<br /><br />I can't stand to think about some fat guy wearing my "jazzy sport" t-shirt and drewling over my records that he'd never appreciate as much as I would. People like that go straight to hell, together with the guys that invented Serato!<br /><br />This is why I'm going write about an older 12" tday, although the sound is still fresh. The group is "The Specifics" and they released this record in 2007 on the Japaneese label P-vine. The record is as I like it, soulful, jazzy and great to sip on your chilled Hoegaarden to. The beats is the work of a very talented producer called "Think Twice" and the lyrics by an Mc called "Golden Boy". The lyrics is OK but they weren't the main reason for putting my money on this little piece of plastic. For me its always been, and always will be, for the beats.<br /><br />Beats are forever!<br /><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.myspace.com/specifics"><br />www.myspace.com/specifics</a><br /><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.myspace.com/thinktwicemtl">www.myspace.com/thinktwicemtl</a><br /><br />/ JayWalkMY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-18739150241363532512008-05-27T13:37:00.000-07:002009-06-25T04:28:37.147-07:00KRS ONE & DJ PREMIER - CRIMINAL MINDED 08 (2008)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvtL8ICKpri9lBRM5_RYQBasZJzh80JMp89i8SKHyf4iTmrke5-xk4KNKvkQgsH27NznC9WnTi9_wQg6ijIBmUjYEtiUWtfmtlKc_5gjefMKlHBtZxGGyTA-EBJXxIOLDcwllbgnRmW3E9/s1600-h/CRIMINAL+MIND+%231_edited-1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvtL8ICKpri9lBRM5_RYQBasZJzh80JMp89i8SKHyf4iTmrke5-xk4KNKvkQgsH27NznC9WnTi9_wQg6ijIBmUjYEtiUWtfmtlKc_5gjefMKlHBtZxGGyTA-EBJXxIOLDcwllbgnRmW3E9/s400/CRIMINAL+MIND+%231_edited-1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205162034534584482" border="0" /></a><br />Wow really dont need to write mutch about this 12". But, when I woke up this morning with a semi-hangover from yesterdays hockeygame I just felt to put this record on and drink my morning coffee in peace. This is one of those records you'll never regret that you bought.<br /><br />It's just so clever, the dirty sound of the Dilla prod. and Steve's voice touching the beat in such a sensitive way. With a voice like he was smoking a package of Lucky Strike before he was entering the studio that morning.<br /><br />Unfortunately spacek did'nt reach the same level with his later stuff, but they're OK so check it out if you have'nt.<br /><br />I doubt that someone interested in this blog dont know the song but I put a link to a sound sample anyway, so you can remember how it was, back in 2005.<br /><br />/ JayWalk<br /><br /><a href="http://www.juno.co.uk/playlists/builder/a147c8f040e501a1c24935b4d5c2aa83.m3u">LISTEN</a>MY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274012722800302020.post-63354555331709375762008-05-14T07:00:00.000-07:002009-06-25T04:28:37.147-07:00MOMENTAN - DIE STADTKINDER VOM LANDEI (2007)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtIHgyLEt_0OsXucahKToPJCka9iTDlAaV769vkW_MPRQS_4rbBqb9zANQYULhoZa4AxN6e8ZRyO9tay2HPxsPF0n4XWYKZ4RM85avvCkevwPfwChmssQGKUrMynyu0tqFqXoscdMbjZCF/s1600-h/MOMENTAN+%232.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtIHgyLEt_0OsXucahKToPJCka9iTDlAaV769vkW_MPRQS_4rbBqb9zANQYULhoZa4AxN6e8ZRyO9tay2HPxsPF0n4XWYKZ4RM85avvCkevwPfwChmssQGKUrMynyu0tqFqXoscdMbjZCF/s320/MOMENTAN+%232.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200233685122102994" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj10doE9KHBi8N7Fp1ODpnQdhlA260wSRPefCfwe-BQ3dOHb4psITVjvwpoRFI6m6Qeflb9rgmzPWphWhyphenhyphenV5N7uByqAl3OjGdSEjJgjjESyKPHLihFDey7s8wr4A7KSjcz_RUzWjeLhuzXA/s1600-h/MOMENTAN+%231.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj10doE9KHBi8N7Fp1ODpnQdhlA260wSRPefCfwe-BQ3dOHb4psITVjvwpoRFI6m6Qeflb9rgmzPWphWhyphenhyphenV5N7uByqAl3OjGdSEjJgjjESyKPHLihFDey7s8wr4A7KSjcz_RUzWjeLhuzXA/s320/MOMENTAN+%231.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200233582042887874" border="0" /></a>The German people! Don't they have some things in common with the people from Japan? At least when it comes to vinyl and hiphop and maybe some other stuff, not suitable to mention here, hehe. If you ask me, Germany is (together with France), europe's metropol of hiphop as much as Japan is in asia.<br /><br />So, what we have here may be the best of both worlds, this record from a group called "Momentan" based in Cologne in southern germany and released on Goon trax from Japan! I dont really understand the language except in the song "Dare" where Rakaa from Dilated Peoples drop some bars. But it's a worthy pick up anyway, worth every £!<br /><br />The beats though, is fantastic, made by the german producer "The Saint" who seems to have alot going on theese days. I can highly recommend you to check some more of his work out if you like this. Pure soulful beats!<br /><br />Listen also to the track <span style="font-weight: bold;">"Going Back" </span>on their myspace, it's sooo good!<br /><br />/ JayWalk<br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span><a href="http://www.juno.co.uk/playlists/builder/7c174767dcb5506ac0f396daed0fd3cc.m3u"><br />LISTEN</a><br /><br /><a href="www.myspace.com/momentan">www.myspace.com/momentan</a>MY VINYL WEIGHS A TONhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15427366800861988715noreply@blogger.com0
